This work was inspired by a famous British artist 'Grayson Perry'. As a transvesism, he always wears beautiful and unique outfit of women's clothing in official occasions. Considered an icon of 'intimidating' he talks directly about his growth background, view of art, and concerns as a work of art. Having worn women's clothes since childhood, he is a living sculpture himself and an always-in-progressing performance artist. Through this, Perry, who breaks down the boundaries of ideas, is evaluated as a 'creative personality'. In this respect, I admire how everyday ideas are expressed as works as an artist and the artist himself becomes an artwork, and I want to be like that.
I expressed an elephant symbolizing a man with his face, and put Berry Kim's favorite style on his favorite beautiful women's clothes, allowing him to be born into the world as a work. Like him, I want to inspire everyone with art that harmonizes daily life and art and deepens it into living sculptures.
이 작품은 영국의 저명한 작가 ‘Grayson Perry’로 부터 영감받아 그리게 된 작 품이다. 복장 도착증인 그는 공식적인 자리에 늘 아름답고 유니크한 스타일의 여성 의상을 입고 있다. ‘도저히 종잡을 수 없는’ 아이콘으로 꼽히는 그는 예술작품으로 자 신의 성장배경과 예술관, 고민 등을 직접 이야기한다. 어린 시절부터 여자 옷을 입 던 그는 그 자체로 살아 있는 조각이며, 언제나 진행중인 행위예술가 이다. 이를 통해 관념의 경계들을 무너뜨리는 페리는 ‘창조적인 인격체’라는 평가를 받고 있다. 이런면에서 나는 일상적인 관념들이 어떻게 예술가로서 작품으로 표현되며 작가 스스로도 작품이 되는 그의 삶을 동경하며 나도 그렇게 되고싶다.
남자를 상징하는 코끼리를 얼굴로 표현했고, 그가 좋아하는 아름다운 여성 의상에 베리킴이 좋아하는 스타일을 입혀 작품으로서 그에 대한 존경심을 세상에 태어나 게 해주었다. 나도 그처럼 일상과 예술이 어우러지며 그것이 더욱 깊어져 살아있는 조각으로 모든이들에게 예술적 영감을 주고싶다.
